A stay at Camping Ohana is also a chance to spend a day in the Périgord. Sarlat and Domme offer two complementary experiences: a town to explore on foot and a fortified bastide overlooking the Dordogne landscape. Choose one as your main visit, then add the other if the pace suits you.

🚗 From Camping Ohana: about 37 km and around 46 min to Sarlat and 33 km and around 45 min to Domme. Route to Sarlat · Route to Domme. Estimates excluding traffic.

Sarlat: wander or join a guided tour

Explore Sarlat’s lanes and heritage at your own pace or with a guide from the tourist office. A guided tour can give your walk a theme and help you understand the buildings along the way.

Choose an option that suits your family and what is available during your stay. If you prefer to explore independently, pick a few places to see and allow time for a break; you do not need to fill the day with activities to enjoy the town.

Domme: a bastide with views over the Dordogne

In Domme, the bastide’s streets lead to the Barre viewpoint. The valley panorama is one of the highlights of this stop. Take time to explore the village before or after the viewpoint rather than making it only a photo stop.

Keep your visit short and relaxed, or add an activity offered locally. Check the tourist office for options, access and opening times on your dates.

Enjoy a relaxed day, even in peak season

Before leaving the campsite, check parking and the route between both stops. Allow time in your schedule for walks to the historic centres and lunch. If you’re travelling with young children, choosing just one destination may be best.

Bring water and comfortable shoes. Book guided tours or paid activities directly with the provider and check the conditions. Times and prices change, so the official links below are the best place to start planning this Périgord day trip.

Before you go

  • Choose Sarlat or Domme as your main stop.
  • Check parking and travel times before setting off.
  • Book your preferred guided tour with the provider.
  • Allow time for lunch and breaks.
